About the Doctors
Dr. Ernest J. McCallum
Dr. Ernest J. McCallum was born and raised in Greenwood, SC. He attended Lander University and was accepted to the University of Maryland Dental School. He graduated with honors in removable prosthetics, a member of the Gamma Pi Delta Prosthetic Honor Society, and Who’s Who among American Colleges and Universities. After dental school Dr. Ernest moved to Pittsburgh and completed a one year General Practice residency. He then moved to New York City and completed his Orthodontic training at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. He met his wife, Kathryn, a Speech and Language Pathologist, in New York and in 1995, they married and moved to Greenwood. They have three children, a boy and two girls.
Dr. Edward S. McCallum
Dr. Edward S. McCallum was born and raised in Elloree, SC. He is an Eagle Scout and still proudly carries his wallet card everyday. He attended Newberry College on a baseball scholarship, and after two years moved to Baltimore to attend the U. of Maryland Dental School. He was a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Honor Society and the Gorgas Honorary Dental Society. After dental school he was an Air Force dentist stationed in Japan for three years. He finished his Orthodontic training at Columbia University, and moved to Greenwood in 1966 to become Greenwood’s first full time Orthodontic specialist. He and his wife Lea have raised three successful sons. An attorney, an Orthodontist, and an international businessman.
