Problems & Solutions

Please call the office as soon as possible should any problem occur. Your next appointment may need to be rescheduled or prepared for, to repair the appliances. Remember, absolutely no chewing gum, sticky foods or hard foods. Please do not hesitate to call anytime, should you have any questions or problems.

Loose band or bracket
If band or bracket is still attached to wire, leave in place. If uncomfortable, place wax on it. Call the office.
Loose wire
Try to place wire back in place with tweezers. If not possible, clip wire with nail clippers behind last tooth which is securely fastened. If any discomfort, place wax on it. Call the office.
Poking wire
Try to push sticking wire down with a spoon or eraser. If not possible, place wax on it.
Lost pin or elastic tie
Notify us at next appointment.
Out of rubber bands
Contact office & request them to be mailed to you or stop by!
Teeth seem loose
Teeth will be slightly mobile while undergoing treatment, this is normal.
Accidents – Knocked out teeth;
Trauma to jaws & teeth
Notify the office or Dr. McCallum at home immediately.
